The 2025/26 UEFA Champions League will enter its eighth round of matches, with Premier League leaders Arsenal hosting Keira. Mikel Arteta has stated that Saliba and Timber will both miss the game.
After goals from Jesus and Dzekeresh, Arsenal defeated Inter Milan 3-1 in the last round of the Champions League. With seven consecutive victories, Arsenal have also secured their place in the round of 16.
It is worth noting that Arsenal will face Keira, who are currently top of the Champions League standings, giving the Gunners more options in terms of squad rotation.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta said, "Saliba and Timber are both unavailable, which is a good opportunity for us to arrange some different training sessions for them and hopefully get them in top form for the next game."
Besides Saliba and Timber being unavailable, Merino and Rice are also unavailable for the match against Keira due to accumulated yellow cards.
Arteta stated, "This has been the case for the past seven months. It's the same whether it's in this competition, the league, or when players are playing for their national teams."
"This is nothing new. The good news is that some players have returned, so they will be able to help us. We are used to this situation, so this will not be an excuse."
Speaking about the improved squad, Arteta said, "It's a very pleasant thing. The team's character makes everything enjoyable, along with their attitude and their strong fighting spirit to win with us."
"This is the only way to compete. The key is not the number of players, but their ability. This also applies to the coaching staff and the team behind the scenes."
