In the 25th round of the 2025/26 La Liga season, Real Madrid visited the Sadar Stadium to challenge Osasuna. They ultimately suffered a surprising 1-2 defeat, but maintained their top spot in the league despite playing one more game than their opponents.

Real Madrid and Osasuna traded attacks early on, creating several scoring opportunities. In the 17th minute, Vinicius Junior received a cross from Álvaro Carreras, cut inside from the left wing, and unleashed a shot, which was saved by Sergio Herrera. A minute later, Aimar Auros passed the ball to the right wing, where Ante Budimir adjusted his position and fired a long-range shot that went just wide.

In the 21st minute, Arda Güler's free-kick cross from the right flank was headed towards goal by Raul Asensio, but Herrera made the save. In the 23rd minute, Ruben Garcia's cross from the right wing at a 45-degree angle was met by Oroš's header at the far post, forcing Thibaut Courtois to make a save. In the 27th minute, Javi Garán's precise cross from the left found Budimir in the box, whose header struck the right post. In the 31st minute, Mbappé received a pass from Vinicius and unleashed a long-range shot, which was brilliantly saved by Herrera.

In the 34th minute, Budimir fell to the ground in the penalty area after Courtois stepped on his foot, and after VAR intervention, Osasuna were awarded a valuable penalty. Budimir converted the penalty, finally breaking the deadlock for Osasuna in the 38th minute.

In the second minute of first-half stoppage time, Galan nearly gifted a goal with a poor clearance during a corner kick, but fortunately Aurelien Choameni's follow-up powerful shot was saved by Herrerato. At halftime, Osasuna maintained a 1-0 lead.

After the break, the two sides were locked in a stalemate for a time. However, in the 73rd minute, Federico Valverde broke into the opponent's penalty area with his individual skill and then crossed the ball to Vinicius to score and equalize the score.

After that, neither Real Madrid nor Osasuna managed to score. Just when it seemed the two teams were about to draw, a dramatic scene unfolded: in the 90th minute, Raul Moro sprinted halfway down the field and delivered a through ball, allowing Raul Garcia to dribble past Asensio and Trent Alexander-Arnold before slotting the ball home from a tight angle to seal the victory. With VAR intervention, Osasuna ultimately defeated Real Madrid 2-1.
