Bologna announced on its official website on Tuesday that the club has extended the contract of its Greece international defender Charalampos Lykogiannis.
According to Bologna's official statement, Lykogiannis has signed on a short-term one-year deal with the club which will only run until the summer of 2026.
About Charalampos Lykogiannis
The 31-year-old Lykogiannis was born on October 22, 1993 in Piraeus, Greece. He is 1.91 meters tall and primarily plays as a left back, but can also play as a center back.
Lykogiannis joined the Olympiakos youth academy at a young age and completed his Olympiakos first-team debut by coming on as a substitute in a Greek Cup match in January 2012.
During this spell, he won the Greek Super League once and the Greek Cup twice with the club, and was loaned-out to Levadiakos and Ergotelis.
In July 2015, Lykogiannis joined Sturm Graz for €1.2 million.
During his two-and-a-half-year spell at Sturm Graz, Lykogiannis won the Austrian Cup once with the club.
In January 2018, Lykogiannis joined Cagliari for €600,000.
After returning to the club after his contract expired in the summer of 2022, Lykogiannis moved to Bologna as a free agent.
Since becoming a member of I Veltri, Lykogiannis has played 109 times for the Serie A club in all competitions, scoring 5 goals, assisting 7 times, and winning the Coppa Italia once with the club.
