Brentford Football Club announced that it has signed a new long-term contract with midfielder Yehor Yarmolyuk, which will last until the summer of 2031. Yehor Yarmolyuk has reached an agreement with Brentford, and the club has the option to renew for another 12 months.
Yehor Yarmolyuk played 35 matches in the 2024-25 season, 31 of which came in the Premier League. Under Thomas Frank, the player got important opportunities at the end of the season, starting nine of the ten games in a row. In March, he also wore the national team jersey for the first time in Ukraine against Belgium.
Yehor Yarmolyuk said: "I am very happy to sign a new contract with the first team. This also motivates me to train and play harder. This season has been very enjoyable for me. Not only did I perform in the Premier League, but I also made my debut for the Ukrainian national team. I am proud of my progress and hope to continue to improve and meet more challenges."
"Everyone has areas that need improvement. I hope to improve my overall performance and help the team reach a higher level. This contract period is particularly important to me. I am really grateful to the club. This has given me more confidence and made me play more happily."
Yehor Yarmolyuk moved to Brentford from the Ukrainian club in July 2022 for an undisclosed fee.
The player initially joined Brentford B and made his debut for the first team in the Carabao Cup against Gillingham in November of the same year. Although the 2022-23 season ended prematurely due to injury, he signed a new five-year contract with the club less than 12 months after joining.
In October 2023, Yehor Yarmolyuk made his Premier League debut. He came on as a second-half substitute for Matthias Jensen in a 3–0 win against Burnley .
Brentford manager Thomas Frank said: "I am very pleased, this is another great achievement for the B team. Neil McFarlane and his staff have developed him very well and have made him ready to play for the first team."
“He has been with our first team for two seasons now and has shown good, natural growth during that time. Last season he played in almost every game and this year his performances have improved significantly.”
"The advantage of Yehor Yarmolyuk is that he is one of the best players in our team. He trains very hard and with great intensity, which is the key to his rapid integration into the team. He has started the last six games, which is a sign of his growth. He is an active pressing player, very dynamic and can cover most areas of the field."
"He performs well in confrontation and has a strong offensive drive. I appreciate his ability to distribute the ball on the field. Nevertheless, as a young player, Yehor Yarmolyuk still has room for improvement. But he is another excellent representative of Brentford, who will not only help the team improve in the future, but also achieve his own growth. "
