Denver Nuggets point guard Russell Westbrook is about to face another challenge in his career. The 36-year-old confirmed that he will undergo surgery on his right hand on Tuesday to repair two fractures he suffered during the season.

Westbrook revealed the news in his personal newsletter "Word of Westbrook" and expressed gratitude to his supporters: "Thank you for your support over the past year. I can't wait to return to the court at 100%. The road to comeback has begun."

In the season that just ended, Westbrook, as a key piece of the bench, brought strong support to the Denver Nuggets in the playoffs. He played steadily in the second round series against his former team, the Oklahoma City Thunder, helping the team to the seventh game.
