Bayern Munich won the 2025 DFL-Super Cup with a 1-2 away victory over Stuttgart at the MHP Arena on Saturday.
In the first half, Kane scored with a volley, while Woltemade's close-range shot was spectacularly saved. In the second half, Díaz and Leweling each scored with headers. In the end, Bayern Munich defeated Stuttgart with a 1-2 away win, securing their 11th title.
First Half
In the 6th minute, Joshua Kimmich crossed into the box from the right wing. After beating the offside trap, Leon Goretzka quickly followed up and upon receiving the pass, took a right-footed half-volley from a very close distance in the box al, but his shot went just slightly wide of the right side of the post.
9 minutes later, Goretzka passed back from the right side of the box. Serge Gnabry quickly followed up and upon receiving the pass, volleyed with his right foot, but his shot went just slightly wide of the left side of the post.
In the 18th minute, Bayern Munich launched a deadly counterattack. Luca Jaquez misjudged a clearance from the edge of their own penalty area, allowing Harry Kane to intercept the ball and volley a right-footed shot into the bottom left corner of the net. Bayern Munich broke the deadlock early to take a 1-0 lead! This was Kane's 86th goal for Bayern in all competitions!
4 minutes later, Josha Vagnoman passes horizontally from the right side of the box. Deniz Undav quickly followed up and upon receiving the pass, took a long shot with his right footed from the edge of the penalty area, but his shot was saved by Manuel Neuer.
In the 24th minute, Undav made a through pass from the front. Nick Woltemade quickly followed up, got the ball and took a few steps before striking the ball with his left from foot against the outrushing Neuer from a very close distance in the box, but his shot was brilliant saved by the latter.
4 minutes later, Gnabry crossed into the box from the right wing, Michael Olise quickly followed up and attempted with a header from the center of the box, however his effort flew high out of the pitch.
At the end of the first half, Stuttgart trailed Bayern Munich 0-1 going into the halftime break.
Second Half
Both teams switched sides as the match continued. In the 62nd minute, Bayern launched a quick counterattack. Olise passes horizontally from the front. Kane quickly followed up, got the ball and took a few steps before volleying with his left-foot from a very close distance in the box, but his shot was blocked by Fabian Bredlow's outstretched legs.
In the 74th minute, Maximilian Mittelstädt passes horizontally from near the midfield center circle. Jamie Leveling quickly followed up, got the ball, cuts inside and dribbled towards the edge of the box before firing a right-footed long shot, but his shot was saved over the crossbar by Neuer.
Shortly after, Stuttgart was awarded a corner kick. Angelo Stiller took the corner by crossing into the box. Luca Jaquez rose high and attempted with a header in the the box, however his effort went just slightly wide of the left side of the post.
In the 77th minute, Gnabry crossed from the right side of the box, Luis Díaz quickly followed up and scored with a header in the box, extending Bayern Munich's lead to 2-0! The Colombia international winger scored his first goal on his debut! After scoring, Díaz paid tribute to his late former teammate Diogo Jota!
In the fifth minute of injury time, Ramon Hendricks's long throw-in into the box was headed across Chema Andrés. Jamie Leveling rose high and scored with a header in the box, pulling a goal back for Stuttgart a 1-2 lead, but it was too late!
When the final whistle is blown, Bayern Munich beat Stuttgart with a 1-2 away win.
