Nelson Semedo says Wolves players are motivated heading into their final two Premier League games despite knowing they can neither qualify for Europe nor worry about relegation.  

The captain insisted that last weekend's poor performance against Brighton was a fluke and that Wolves will not make the same mistake again as they travel to Crystal Palace before hosting Brentford next week.  

Nelson Semedo said: "We are optimistic because we played well against Manchester City. Even though we lost the game, we are in good shape. But to be honest, our performance in the last game against Brighton was not as good as we thought."  

“I think we are not at our best yet, so we have to make sure every player is back to their best level, try to win the next game and go all out to get the three points.”  

“I understand people’s feelings but we still have targets to strive for. There’s a difference between 16th and 13th. Obviously, we are far from there and we have to make sure we hit our targets before the end of the season.”  

"We can't set mid-term goals and think the season is over in the last few games of the season. Whether we are out of the relegation zone or no longer in the fight for European qualification, we still have to strive for every victory."  

“We certainly hope to rank higher in the standings, which means we have won the game. But more importantly, we must continue to improve ourselves, correct our shortcomings and make continuous progress.”  

"That's our goal for the rest of the season, to play well in every game. If we can win, that's good, if we win and play well, that's even better. If we can keep a clean sheet, that's ideal."
