Nottingham Forest sacked manager Sean Dyche after only 114 days..

Nottingham Forest announced on their official website on Thursday that manager Sean Dyche had been sacked after only 114 days in charge.

According to Forest's official statement, the club appreciates Dyche's contributions to the team during his tenure; however, due to unsatisfactory results, the management had to make this difficult decision. Nevertheless, the club wishes Dyche all the best for the future.

The club will not comment further on this matter until a new manager is appointed.

Dyche is the third manager to be sacked by Forest this season. Before him, former Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou was also sacked in October 2025 after 43 days in charge.

Before Postecoglou, Portuguese manager Nuno Espírito Santo, currently managing West Ham United but also facing sacking danger, was also sacked in September 2025 due to a falling out with the club.

Espírito Santo's sacking, following his role in securing European qualification for the club last season after a long absence, drew widespread criticism of chairman Evangelos Marinakis.

Nottingham Forest's 0-0 draw against bottom-placed Wolverhampton Wanderers in the midweek Premier League match, placing them 17th in the table and just three points above the relegation zone, this proved to be the final straw for Dyche.

Despite helping the club reach the Europa League Round of 16s play-offs, Dyche's contributions were considered insufficient by the Forest management.

About Sean Dyche

Dyche, 54, was born in Kettering, England, on June 28, 1971. He is 1.83 meters tall and played as a center back.

Dyche began his career in Nottingham Forest's youth academy but was not promoted to the first team. He was also present at the Hillsborough Disaster on April 15, 1990.

He subsequently became a Chesterfield legend and has also played for the likes of Watford, Luton Town, and Millwall.

After retiring in the summer of 2007, Dyche returned to Watford as their U18s coach and was promoted to the role of first-team manager in 2011.

The following September, Dyche was appointed manager of Burnley.

During his 10-year spell at Burnley, Dyche was renowned for his traditional and pragmatic tactics, leading the club to one EFL Championship title and even a surprise Europa League qualification.

However, with the Clarets teetering on the brink of relegation in April 2022, Dyche was abruptly sacked. At the time, many media outlets, pundits, and fans criticized Burnley's management for their hasty approach.

In January 2023, Dyche was appointed manager of Everton.

He helped the club avoid relegation, but was sacked in January of this year for his outdated tactics.

During his two-year tenure at the Toffees, Dyche led the club to a record of defeating their city rivals, Liverpool, which had not been broken since 2010.

In October 2025, Dyche was appointed manager of Nottingham Forest, returning to his former club after 35 years.

In just 114 days at Forest, Dyche managed the Premier League club in 25 matches across all competitions, achieving 10 wins, 6 draws, and 9 losses, a win percentage of 40%.
